I mentioned something about life throwing a curveball, it ended up being far worse than that. Dimzad (my husband) was diagnosed with late stage cancer on the 20th December. He had shown no symptoms until then and was only 45. The hospital did their best but it was too advanced and he passed on the 11th Feb. Just under 8 weeks.
The poem above was read at his funeral. The Lord of the Rings was just one of the things that we bonded over – I remember how excited we were at the films coming out. This led us on to playing Lord of the Rings Online together, and I have some very fun memories of our time here. We had many elves v dwarves “arguments” and stupid jokes like singing Othrikar to the tune of Toto’s Africa…
I have no words and too many words. I’m trying to find things to keep busy, so this blog may be updated.
My heart is broken for you. What a devastating loss. That is a beautiful poem.
Shocked to read this, my heart goes out to you.

There is nothing so surreal as seeing a loved one die. Even being there for their last breath – just hard to accept. Please know you are not alone in your grief and that it will eventually pass.
